<p>Addressing a news briefing, Prime Minister Syed Yousuf  Raza Gilani on Thursday also announced RS 116 billion for energy sector  to overcome power crisis.</p>
<p>Unveiling decisions to ease the power  crisis and minimise loadshedding across the country, Gilani informed the  nation about efforts being made by the government to lessen people’s  hardship because of power shortage.</p>
<p>10 new independent power  projects (IPPs) are in pipe line under the short term police to save and  produce the electricity, Gilani said after chairing energy conference.</p>
<p>Briefing  on the occasion, Minister for Water and Power <a href="http://www.pakistanacca.com/2010/04/12/new-promise-from-pervaiz-ashraf/" target="_self">Raja Pervez Ashraf </a>said  government and relevant offices would have two weekly offs, adding the  industries would announce alternative weekly offs.</p>
<p>The decision  regarding two weekly holidays will be affective form July 31, he  clarified.</p>
<p>He said the power quota to Karachi from Pakistan  Electric Power Company (PEPCO) has been slashed by 300 Megawatts from  650 MWs.</p>
