Looks like that KPMG Taseer Hadi and Company is still hiring ACCA qualified affiliates, but on condition that they entered through ICAP’s exemption route.

According to their website link KPMG Taseer Hadi also invited ACCA affiliates to apply for training contract. Following is the text from their ‘career page’:

Basis of Application for 2012 Applicants:

Students having cleared at least three modules of the CA Foundation and intermediate Examination should apply [preference will be given to applicants of the most recent Full Time Students (FTS)].

ACCA qualified, who are interested in pursuing CA from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP) can apply for training contract.

This might not be as surprising as it looks. According to EconomyAge, there is a little disagreement among ICAP council members over the notice which refrain audit firms to hire ACCA trainees.

Well there is a small window of opportunity here for ACCA affiliates to jump in. Its worth mentioning here that this is not a new route. Previously, ACCA students, who wishes to continue their career in audit industry, applied for ICAP or ICAEW contract. After ICAP’s notice, its not possible for students to get an ICAEW contract hence only leaving them with one choice.

ACCA students have been desperately waiting for ACCA Pakistan to speak up on ‘ICAP Notice’. The main concern for these students is to land a decent job, which is hard to come by these days.
