Unauthorized ACCA Course
No, I am not claiming the course or its body is unauthorized. Actually I was wondering after reading a news item from a website. Sometimes, the power of our ACCA brand is much more than we possibly imagine. According to AshDown Group student member of ACCA is now well above 400,000.
So coming back to the topic! I was actually reading about a possible Pakistani Spy in India who were caught recently in India but during the surfing, I stumble on expressbuzz and forget the Spy Thing I was reading. According to them, the Vidya Bharathi Institute of Management and Technology has stated that some of its affiliated colleges are offering foreign professional programmes like the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), UK, without the knowledge of the parent institution.
“Highly professional teachers are required to teach this course, as it is equivalent to the CA course in India,” Mohammedkutty said. He said holders of ACCA degree get jobs abroad for it is an international degree.”We pay huge amounts to international experts to train the students for the final examination,” he said, and alleged that a private group was misleading students by using the ACCA’s name. “Even the emblem being used by the group is fake, as the ACCA trademark is in black and white, not red as shown in the brochures,” he alleged.
I was amused because I met with “few” individuals from ACCA who are of the view that there is no more job market for them and just in our neighbors (India), colleges are ‘dying’ to teach their students ACCA without even asking from the official body and the government.
I think now is the time when ACCA should look deep into Pakistan especially because every-time I went into streets, I see signboards from different private institutes offering CAT and ACCA and most of them are not registered. For now, I am not holding any data from our team but I am leaving it to Bilal(our karachi editor) and Aamna (our Lahore editor) to dig more into this.
